      Shadrack was born in Edgecombe County, N.C.  He moved to South Carolina but returned to North Carolina where he died in Edgecombe County, N.C.

      Farmers by occupation.

      Will of father, JOHN PROCTOR, dated Dec. 21,1761, probated February Court 1772 Edgecombe County, North Carolina.  Gives manor plantation to Ann, makes her Extx.  Plantation plus additional 200 acres to  son Moses.  John (Jr) gets the land adjoing Jesse Flowers and Arthur Williams.  Shadrack gets 175 acres adjoining John Jr's.  Aaron gets 100 acres"where Jacob Brake lived", the other half of the 200 acre Brake tract going to Samson. One daughter mentioned, Patience Jones, who gets 5 shillings sterling.   Exr: John Morris, witnesses: Mary Morris, Deberiah Mate. p. 362, will of John Williams, March 14, 1792, Aug Ct. 1793, Edgecombe County.  Leaves "178 acre tract purchased of Shadrack Proctor" to his daughter Betsey Williams. Shadrack Proctor is not listed as a head of household in 1790 Census for Edgecombe County. 


      There is a Shadarick Proctor listed in Wilmington District, Onslow County.  Family: One free white male age 16 and upwards; three free white males under 16. Three free white females (one wife + 2 daus?), no slaves. Since this is considerably south of Edgecombe, and since he apparently sold his land to John Williams by 1792.There is no Shadrack listed on 1810 Census Index for North Carolina (AIS).

      William Proctor, planter, to Shorey Pawley, yeoman, of the Welch Tract, in Craven Co., for 150 pounds currency, 250 a. in the Welch Tract, granted 1 June 1750 by Gov. James Glen to John Proctor; bounding W and N on vacant land: NW on Daniel Laroche; E on Filman Hobbs and vacant land; SW on the Pee Dee River. Wit: Walter Foley, Judah Cone.(South Carolina, Land Grants; Book O-3,pp.276-280, 1 Dec 1762 L &R) Shadrack Proctor listed in Liberty Co., SC  in 1800 SC799) 1800 Census For Liberty Co., SC, p233 - Shadrack Proctor Shadrack Proctor, son of John Proctor, b. (WFT est. 1732-1761) in Edgecombe Co., NC. He moved to South Carolina but returned to North Carolina, where he died in Edgecombe Co., NC. Farmer by occupation.
